Next I needed a pin cushion for my beading needles and I wanted it to be smaller. I found that I had a single acrylic white sock in my laundry room.

Sock Pin Cushion #1

Sock is right side out
Size: 1.5 inches in diameter, 2 inches tall

  • I cut off the cuff
  • then I cut the cuff in half vertically
  • opened the cuff into a rectangle
  • folded the rectangle into thirds with the bottom folded up first and then the top over it
  • next I rolled it up like a jelly roll
  • and sewed the end to the roll
  • finally I put it into a bottle cap from a shampoo bottle

Sock Pin Cushion #2

Sock is inside out
Size: 1.5 inches in diameter, 1.5 inches tall

  • for this one I used the other half of the cuff, but this time I turned it inside out so that the loops where on the outside
  • folded the rectangle into thirds with the bottom folded up first and then the top over it
  • next I rolled it up like a jelly roll
  • and sewed the end to the roll
  • finally I put it into a bottle cap from a vitamin bottle
